Brad Rose

My hypnotherapist, Cecil B. DeMille, says I should get more sleep, but when I do, I dream I’m as wide awake as an electrical storm on Jupiter. So today, I’m doing two things at once. Like sweet lemons and sour grapes, I’m both fuel-efficient and low-calorie. Evidently, the modern workforce is disappearing. No wonder. There are no good jobs left. You know, the ones with a steam room and a sauna. By the way, now that my blood is boiling and my hands are shaking, I could eat you up. Like a piece of cake. And I would too, if I didn’t have to land this damn rocket.

Brad Rose was born and raised in Los Angeles and lives in Boston. He is the author of eight collections of poetry and micro-fiction, and seven poetry chapbooks. His latest collection, Pink X-Ray, was published by Blue Horse Press. Visit him at bradrosepoetry.com.
